About me

I don’t just create art. I build the tools, workflows, and visual systems that make complex productions possible.

Alongside my professional activity as an Art Director, Technical Artist and Comic Book Artist, I am also a Professor of Sequential Art at the Academy of Fine Arts G.B. Tiepolo of Udine, where I teach visual storytelling, artistic fundamentals, and contemporary digital workflows.

For over 15 years, my world was defined by comic books: digital ink, color, and deadlines. As an artist and colorist for the industry’s most renowned comic publishers, like Sergio Bonelli Editore in Italy, Glènat, Soleil and Delcourt in France, Marvel in USA. I had the privilege of contributing to iconic series like Dragonero, Chant des Stryges, and The Avengers. I’m also the visual creator of successful series like Les Seigneurs de la Terre for Glènat in France. It was an incredible experience that taught me everything about visual storytelling and the relentless pace of professional production.

This professional background naturally evolved into my academic activity.
Teaching allowed me to formalize and refine the methodologies developed in production environments, transforming them into structured learning paths for students working in comics, illustration, animation, and visual development.
Today, my work constantly moves between professional production and higher education, with each field strengthening the other.

This same problem-solving mindset also informs my teaching approach, where technical knowledge is never presented as an end in itself, but as a tool in service of artistic intent and visual clarity.

I dove into the world of programming, learning Python, JavaScript, and Unreal Blueprints not as an academic exercise, but as a way to solve real-world problems for artists. This journey led me to create several tools I use in my workflow, and SkelSketch, a commercial VR and Blender tool designed to make 3D sketching intuitive and fast.

Today, I bring this integrated perspective to every project and every class I teach.

I am an Art Director who understands production constraints, a Technical Artist who writes tools for artists, and an academic professor who translates real-world experience into structured, transferable knowledge.

My mission is to create visual systems and workflows — in production and in education — that are so clear and efficient they become invisible, allowing artists and teams to focus entirely on visual storytelling and creative expression.

Key Expertise:

  • Technical Direction: Designing and developing tools, scripts, and full-stack applications to optimize production pipelines.
  • Art Direction: Leading visual style and quality, ensuring technical feasibility aligns with creative goals.
  • 3D Production: Expert-level, hands-on skills in modeling, sculpting, rigging, and rendering.

If you’re looking for someone who understands both the “why” and the “how,” I’d love to connect.
